Persistent storage is a browser request, not a backup. It may be denied and does not protect against manually clearing site data.
1. Create a backup
Exports all keys currently visible to this origin into one dated JSON file. Keep the downloaded file somewhere outside the browser, such as Downloads or a separate cloud drive.
2. Inspect a backup before restoring
Select a backup file. Nothing will be changed until you select entries and press Restore selected keys.
Restore overwrites only selected keys that exist in the backup. It does not delete other keys. Before restoring, the page triggers a downloadable backup of the current state. Confirm that download completes before continuing if the data is important.
